Jake Rose, age 87, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Monday Evening April 15, 2024, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, KY. He was born November 14, 1936, in Elliott County, KY, a son of the late Bruce and Gladys Holbrook Rose.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jessa Rose, Talmadge Rose, John Rose, and Jeff Rose; one sister Elma Rose and one brother-in-law Estill Harris.
Jake was member of Millwrights & Piledrivers Local 1090 in Canton, OH and retired after 27 ½ years of service with Teledyne-Monarch Rubber in Hartville, OH. He was a Korean war Era Navy Veteran, a Member of Homeworth Masonic Lodge # 499 in Homeworth, OH, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Member of Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, OH and a Member of the Tadmor Shrine Temple in Akron, OH. Jake was of the Freewill Baptist Faith and enjoyed working on his farm and working with his horses.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Keith and Kiyoka Rose of Hatsukaichi, Japan, Dale and Amy Rose of Monclova, OH; one daughter and son-in-law, Jonda and Kelly Carnes of Canton, OH; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Renee Rose of Louisville, OH, Larry and Deborah Rose of Olive Hill, KY, Bruce and Sandy Rose Jr. of Olive Hill, KY; one sister, Maxine Harris of Olive Hill, KY; five grandchildren, Neil and Lisa Rose, Casey and Danielle Rose, Mitchell Rose, Audrey Rose, NIcholas Rose; four great-grandchildren, Henry Rose, Abby Rose, Charlie Rose and Jake Rose. In addition to these he survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that will cherish his memory.
Graveside Services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday April 22, 2024, at the Olive Hill Memorial Park, with Bro. Bobby Day Officating. Military Rights presented by the Olive Hill American Legion Post #138.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 9:00 PM Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street Olive Hill, KY. Masonic Services will be Conducted 7:00 PM Sunday by the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge #629.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Carnes, Dale Rose, Keith Rose, Neil Rose, Mitchell Rose and Nicholas Rose.
