Robert "Bobby" Carroll

Robert Wayne Carroll ("Bobby"), age 68, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into heavenly rest Sunday morning, April 21, 2024, at his home. He was born December 10, 1955, in Grayson, KY, and was the son of the late Vaughn and Virginia Carroll. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.

Robert was an electrician who worked as an electrical and instrumentation technician for most of his career of over 35 years, until his health required him to retire. During this time, he worked on constructing two major power plants, including a hydroelectric powerplant (Bath County Pumped Storage Station) in Bath County, Virginia, that was cited as one of the nation's most outstanding engineering achievements in 1985. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His devotion to his family came second, only to his dedication to God. Robert was baptized on July 14, 1968, and was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle in Elliottville, Kentucky.

He is survived by Bonnie Carroll, his wife of 52 years; two daughters, Loretta Carroll (and close friend William Perry) and Stacy (John) Campbell; one grand-daughter Alyssa Stewart; honorary grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mason Perry, Kaitlin Tipton, Kelli Perry, Emerson Perry, Sylas Waugh, and Henry Tipton; three sisters; and his Aunt Carolyn Ellyson.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with Pastor Arnold Ison, Brother Clyde Mays, and Brother Joseph Ison officiating. Burial will follow at the JROUAM Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street Olive Hill, KY.
